Experience
I believe that the best way to teach students is to take a common-sense approach that breaks down difficult content into a manner that students can understand. This is achieved by taking challenging concepts and teaching them in smaller chunks, giving students the opportunity to grasp the key ideas before moving on. As an experienced math tutor, I like to use this approach to help students who are struggling with math to increase their knowledge piece-by-piece. Additionally, I believe that every student has a different learning style, and that a good tutor is able to come up with lesson plans that are not only engaging, but also designed to help students build upon their already existing strengths. In order to do this, I like to come up with a wide range of activities that target different learning styles so that students who prefer hands-on activities, moving around, or visual learning are all able to benefit from the same type of lesson. Moreover, I also believe that the best way to teach someone is to have a positive attitude, motivate them by connecting the material to their own interests, and adding a little creativity to make the lessons fun and enjoyable. When I'm not teaching, I like to spend time with my family, solve puzzles, and cook different types of food.
